Wine and LEDs | A Brilliant Combination
Indal, a Spanish lighting company has combined two seemingly opposite obsessions to create a visually stunning piece of art. Indal has lined the Castilla y Leon Pavillion, located until September 14, in the Expo Zaragoza 2008 in Saragossa, Spain with over 30,000 wine bottles filled with thousands of RGB LED light bulbs. The show as well the design of the pavilion was meant to showcase themes of water and sustainable development.
The walls of the pavilion have been lined with three wooden walls shaped like wine racks, holding the 30,000+ transparent bordeaux-shaped bottles. The LED lights were then placed inside each bottle to provide the lighting for the room. Indal wanted the design to “surprise visitors from the first minute” they entered the room.
Fluidity, cleanliness, refinement. A brilliant idea by Indal to take the sustainability and energy efficiency of LED lights and pair it with the beauty, sophistication and comfort of wine.
