Silicon Valley Lighting Up With LEDs
The City of San Jose is interested in improving its lighting efficiency. Just like many of the corporations that have made the area so successful, the city is looking to innovate its infrastructure with LED technology and improve its carbon footprint in California.
On October 15, the city sent out an RFP for Programmable Low Energy Street Lights for the City’s Department of Transportation. The city wants new streetlamps that will be energy-efficient, long-lasting and produce minimal to no hazardous waste. The city is also keen on the lights being programmable and controllable remotely.
