Paws on the Path Hiking Club Set Out This Month
Get Rover, Spot and Fifi primed and ready for a Hawaiian hiking adventure. The Paws on the Path Hiking Club is organizing the 9th annual Makapu’u Lighthouse evening hike for all hikers and their dogs. This beloved event will take place on January 26. The event, sponsored also by the Hawaiian Humane Society, will begin at the Makapu’u hiking trail at 4:30pm. Hikers and their four-legged friends will hike a roughly 3 mile, low-risk trail. Event organizers ask that everyone bring a sack lunch or snack, water and a good quality flashlight. For more information on what to look for in a good quality hiking or outdoor flashlight, read The Benefits of LED Flashlights.
Paws on the Path is a hiking group that helps dogs and their human companions enjoy nature in the company of others. Hikes are usually on the last Saturday of each month and are led by Humane Society volunteers. You can get more information on the Paws on the Path Program on the Hawaiian Humane Society Site.
