Osram’s New Golden Dragons With Optical Lenses
Osram announced new versions of their Golden Dragon LED which incorporate 20 or 40 degree lenses. These updated lenses create a powerful light source for medium or flood beam applications using white or colored light. The Golden Dragon LEDs have a light output of 60 lumens at 350 mA and 1.12 W, with typical efficacy of 54 lm/W. The 20 degree beam Dragon has a luminance of 155 cd, while the 40 degree version has a luminance of 81 cd. The power of these updated versions of Osram’s LED is that the lenses are incorporated without increasing the size of the LED itself. The light source is still less than 1 centimeter high.
