Oregon: West Salish Pond Youth Fishing Event
Young fishermen and women are invited to learn to fish like the pros at the West Salish Pond Free Youth Fish Event on Saturday, May 31st from 9am – 2pm. The event is part of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife‘s Youth Angling Enhancement Program, a service created to introduce kids to the world of fishing. The ODFW will provide rods, reels, bait and tackle for any young angler that does not have their own fishing equipment. The pond will be well stocked with trout so that the kids are sure to have a good time and volunteers will be on hand to teach safety as well as basic casting and baiting techniques.
