Oregon: Best Trails For Hiking
Terry Richard, writer for the Oregonian’s travel section has put together a list of his “Best of” camping, hiking and biking trails for summer adventurers. Though I don’t necessarily agree with all of his choices for the best tent camping and biking trails, he did do some great research to provide hiking and camping options for people throughout Oregon. Below are his top three best Hiking trails:
From Terry Richards, Oregonian:
Wallowa Lake State Park (JOSEPH)
The park is an entry point to some of the most beautiful long-distance trails in the state, into the Eagle Cap Wilderness Area.
Silver Falls State Park (SILVERTON)
The spectacular Canyon Trail, also known as the Trail of 10 Falls, will always be an Oregon classic; the park has lots of other trails, too.
Little Crater Campground (MOUNT HOOD NATIONAL FOREST)
Perhaps a surprising choice, but you’ll know why after walking through the beautiful meadows to stunning Little Crater Lake, then on to the Pacific Crest Trail.
