Ontario Hiking Week Kicks Off This Month
The Ontario Hiking Week kicks off at the end of the month running from September 23-30, 2007. The week is a great opportunity for Ontario residents to get out and appreciate the varied, numerous and beautiful hiking trails available in the area. Hikers of all skill levels and age can take advantage of the event to learn more about the many benefits of hiking which include low impact aerobic exercise, affordability, environmental appreciation and ecological awareness.
The event is sponsored by Hike Ontario. There is no cost to participate in the event. Young and old interested in hiking the trails as a group, whether the more complicated, multi-day trails or the leisurely day trails just need to send an email to info@hikeontario.com and include the date and time of your hike or event, the location and directions for the event, the length of the hike, a contact person and any other notes that help define your specific hike.
If you haven’t done much hiking in the area before, take the time to research the trail area and put together a hiking or camping pack suitable for your type of hike.
