Nevada residents – Are you looking for a good staycation idea for your family this weekend? Local young people are looking for volunteers to work on a new one mile trail at Galena Creek Regional Park off of Mt. Rose Highway. This August 2 from 8:00am – 12:00pm, volunteers will work with Great Basin Institute’s Great Basin Naturalists program high school students to help clear trailways. Lunch will be provided. Interested individuals, couples or families that want to volunteer can contact Kyle Isacksen at (775) 240-5967.

Hiking trails throughout the Northwest United States provide some of the best recreational activity areas year round. The work that goes into keeping these trails safe, clear and maintained is much appreciated by outdoors people that use them to hike, bike or ride.
