Nashville Considers Replacing Hot Park Lights with LEDs

We all know that good lighting improves safety. What may not be as obvious is that poor lighting can directly cause injury, especially when traditional incandescent bulbs become extremely hot. This is exactly the danger at Bicentennial Mall State Park in downtown Nashville. State leaders are seeking for to replace the park’s 200 ground lights, similar to the one shown at left, after a small child suffered second degree burns after falling on one of the lights. City officials are hoping to replace the lights with LED bulbs, which create virtually no heat.

LEDs can make your life safer, too. Coast LED’s Car Lenser, for instance, provides excellent light without distracting the driver. You’ll feel safe changing the CD or consulting the map, knowing that your light isn’t blinding your fellow passengers.
