LEDs Appeal to Hydroponic Growers

LEDs are becoming increasingly popular with hydroponic growers, due to the amount of energy they save. Hydroponics is the practice of growing plants without soil, and often results in larger crops, especially where traditional farming is not possible. Scientists around the country also use hydroponics to grow consistent crops for experiments. Many growers choose to use grow lights for hydroponic crops, to create a consistent and high-yield growing environment.

Here’s where LEDs come in. PR Article reports that AccessDiscounts.us is now offering LED Gro Master hydroponic lighting systems. LED grow lights require less than a sixth of the voltage of traditional hydroponic bulbs, and their cool operating temperature also saves the energy that would be used to maintain the growing temperature. Finally, LED hydroponic bulbs contain no mercury and last at least twice as long as their incandescent counterparts.
