Cree Inc, Osram Opto Semiconductors, Philips Lumileds Lighting and Nichia will all be represented at this year’s LEDS 2008 event in San Diego, CA. The three-day event will take place at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina and is gearing up to be an interesting and celebratory event.

The show program has been put together to highlight the impressive growth and key developments that have occurred in the LED industry during the past year. Speakers will discuss the growing use of LEDS in LCD backlighting applications and their expansion in the HB LED headlamps used in vehicles.

In addition to these emerging new markets for LEDS, speakers from the American Lighting Association will discuss the growth of LED use in residential lighting and how this sector can continue to grow in market share.

A manufacturers panel made up of vice presidents, founders and general managers from the leading LED bulb manufacturers will discuss issues around LED implementation and possible growth opportunities.
