Recent bridge lighting projects and other public displays have brought up a new use for LED bulbs: art. LEDs in a new project in Sacaramento join efficiency with creativity to provide a stunning public art display.

As reported in the Sacramento Bee, the US Bank Tower will soon be transformed into a gigantic art display using LED bulbs. Lighting Science Group Corp installed several levels of LED displays on the building. The first piece, titled “Lumetric River,” imitates running water flowing across the tower’s top. Inside, 194 LED panels make up the second display, “The Rapids.”
