LED Emergency Light | Survival Kit Essentials

We’ve seen it on the news all too often – hurricanes in the south, flooding in the northeast, and tornadoes in the Midwest. If an emergency strikes where you live, don’t be caught off guard. Power outages and blackouts happen all the time when a city braces for a major disaster. In addition to a stocked and well-supplied survival kit, make sure you have emergency lights that will last. An LED light source is the best option today for a dependable, long-lasting light.

LED emergency lights are portable lanterns specifically made to be durable enough to withstand shaking, jolts and drops. Typically powered by batteries (12-volt, D-batteries), these lights have the same long-battery life benefits that any LED product has. They also have a long LED bulb life making them a great asset in an emergency. Some emergency LED lights come with rechargeable units that can be plugged into a car or truck if it takes several days for the power to return. Other emergency lights have up to 200 hours of battery life and will therefore require new batteries after 8 consecutive days of use. Extra batteries should always be included in any household emergency kit.

Visit your local hardware store or search online for more information on LED emergency lights. Having the peace of mind that your family will be safe and prepared for an emergency is worth thinking ahead for.
