LED Dimming Feature To Be Used in Dolby and SIM2 New LCDs
Together, SIM2 Multimedia and Dolby Laboratories, Inc hope to develop a new high dynamic range (HDR)-enabled LCD flat screen using Dolby’s new LED-based local dimming technology. SIM2 will provide Dolby with manufacturing reference designs for this new television concept.
Dolby’s contrast technology will utilize LEDs with local dimming to provide dramatically enhanced contrast. They hope that this new innovative technology solution will make them an industry leader in the utilization of LEDs in LCD television screens.
