Installation 500th Daktronics LED Billboard Display Achieved

Outdoor advertising company and LED display maker Daktronics is taking credit for creating a world of digital scenery this week as it announced the installation of its 500th LED digital billboard.  The company has been putting up digital signs around the nation since 2001 and is claiming to have played “a major role in fueling the digital revolution.”

Daktronics introduced its Valo™ OT digital billboard in August. The signage system is lighter and uses less energy than any of its competitor’s products without sacrificing image quality. The company is proud of its accomplishments and its ability to constantly evolve its product offerings to meet the demands of markets all over the US.

The 500th billboard was a 14’ x 48’ LED display put up in Chicago for Lamar. “Not only does this mark a milestone for Daktronics,” said sales manager Jeremy Johnson of Daktronics, “it indicates that this business is strong and growing rapidly. We are pleased to see this level of industry participation at this stage of the game.”

In July, Daktronics announced its involvement in the lighting display at the Grand Lisboa Hotel in Macau.  For more on LED display evolution and billboards, view the video posted at “LED Light Bulbs Illuminate Time Square.”
