Hiking Week in Pennsylvania
It is hiking week in Pennsylvania with over 100 hikes scheduled and routed throughout the state. The sixth annual nine-day Hiking Week is sponsored by the Keystone Trails Association and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Event organizers hope that the 107 hiking trails available will get local hiking enthusiasts as well as first-timers to visit the state and local parks and experience the woodlands these areas have to offer.
All of the scheduled hikes will have a hike leader. The hiking trails vary in length and terrain from easy day strolls through urban parks to longer, more strenuous treks in the mountain areas where additional hiking gear and skill may be needed.
Hiking week ends on June 3, 2007. To learn more about Pennsylvania’s Hiking Week visit the Keystone Trails Association or the DCNR web site.
