Hard Rock Hotel Gets LED Face Lift After Hurricane Katrina Disaster

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, has been restored after extensive damages were sustained from Hurricane Katrina. The hotel opened up again in July with a new indoor and outdoor LED lighting design by Shop 12 and 4Wall Entertainment and powered by Color Kinetics’ technology.

The designers chose LED light fixtures because they can create millions of colors and dynamic effects without gel or filters, they require very little up-keep and radiate little to no heat.

The building has LED fixtures in the entryway to illuminate its vast memorabilia wall and in the center bar, making it the focal point of a spoked wheel motif. Hallways and restaurants within the building also utilize LED tiles between video displays. LED fixtures are also used on large poles outside of the building illuminating the upper, middle and lower sections of the hotel with a changing color scheme.

The introduction of this LED design brought the magic and excitement one would come to expect from a Hard Rock property back to the ravaged building. Biloxi residents couldn’t be happier.
