General Electric Developing OLED Wallpaper
In his seminal novel Farenheit 451, Ray Bradbury envisioned a future in which televisions stretched from ceiling to floor, encompassing entire walls. According to a recent story at DVICE, that future may have arrived for lighting. General Electric researchers recently discovered a new process for creating OLEDs that may allow the manufacture of paper-thin lighting that can easily be placed anywhere. The ultimate dream of these designers is that the OLEDs would be flexible and available in any color. They could even be transparent, allowing installation on windows.
More research is required to reduce production costs before this new product will be affordable for the average consumer. Until then, you can easily make use of LED technology in your own home through DLK’s wide array of interior lighting. Or, if you’re looking to energize your tired work space, pair an LED base with the White Flower glass art at left.
