Fall Camping or Hiking in the Nation’s Forest Parks

The evenings are getting colder, the fog is lingering a little longer every morning and sweaters are starting to come out of their summer storage boxes. Yep it’s fall and what a great time to get outdoors and visit some of the Nation’s Forest Parks to experience them during this changing season.

Camping in the autumn season can be one of the most rewarding (see blog “Fall Camping is a Great Vacation Consideration). If you can’t camp, at least take a hike to experience the clean, fresh air and the changing colors of the season. To get information on the fall foliage outlook for forest’s in your state, you can find a collection of hotline phone numbers at camping.about.com. The numbers will get you to tourism or state office that can help you decide which forest’s will have the best fall feel for the timeframe you are considering on adventuring out.  You can also find web sites for some states.

Enjoy the outdoors this fall and take advantage of the park resources available to you.
