Dusseldorf, Germany installs LED street lamps

Gas street lamp in Melbourne, AUAs reported in The Economist, Dusseldorf Germany is trading its old gas street lamps for LEDs. The process of updating the city’s lighting won’t happen overnight: about two dozen experimental LED street lamps are now installed, out of the ten thousand lamps the city intends to replace. City officials chose LEDs for their efficiency, reliability, and tendency to outlast traditional incandescent bulbs. Additionally, the light cast by LEDs is more directional, meaning that LED lamps can light just the area needed, as a spotlight would.

You can follow Dusseldorf’s example by switching to LEDs in your home or yard. Browse DLK’s selection of Home or Office Lighting from Coast Home Lighting to find the perfect light for your space.
