DOE Schedules LED Report Webcast
Last week, I reported that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has been funding several LED and OLED lighting research and development projects as part of their Solid State Lighting (SSL) program. This week the DOE has announced they will host a 90-minute live webcast on July 2, 2007 in an effort to educated the public on the DOE’s recently released 5-Year SSL Commercialization Support Plan. This webcast is the first in a series that will focus on solid-state lighting topics such as LED packaging, economics of LEDs, LED basics, Luminaire efficacy, and thermal management.
The webcast will be presented by Marc Ledbetter of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and will include 45-minutes of presentations followed by a question and answer session. It is expected that Ledbetter will present on key elements of the plan such as buyer guidance, design competitions, technology demonstrations and procurements, product testing and test procedure support.
The web cast will be held Monday, July 2, 2007 at 10:00 - 11:30 am Pacific time. To attend, visit www.netl.doe.gov/ssl/webcast-plan.html
