Cree LED Downlights Increase Sales in Europe
Austrian professional lighting company, Zumtobel Group, has teamed up with Cree in a long-term agreement that will give Zumtobel the ability to sell Cree’s recessed downlights in the European market. The two companies hope the agreement will increase the sell of the 230V version of Cree’s LR6 luminaire by 50,000 units in its first year. Coast LED flashlights and lamps utilize Cree’s LED light bulbs in many of their models.
Cree is considered a leader in LED technology - one of the top 5 producing LED companies in the world. Zumtobel Group CEO, Andreas Ludwig, said that Cree “provides us with a unique source of technological knowledge and leadership.”
The LR6-230V Cree downlights use just 12 watts of power while still delivering the light equivalent of a 75-watt incandescent light. The lights are estimated to last up to 50 times longer than an incandescent lamp as well.
