Congress approves Cyberlux LED lighting for US Air force

Congress has approved equipping the United States Air Force with portable LED nightvision lighting systems.  The 2008 Defense Appropriations Bill includes an $8 million dollar budget for the purchase of Cyberlux’s BrightEye Visible Covert Portable Illumination Systems for the USAF. These portable nightvision systems, which are used for mission tactical lighting, force protection, disaster first responders, and other high-intensity lighting application, were field tested last year by the USAF. They were found to be smaller (97% smaller), lighter (94% lighter) and able to save approximately 63% of the daily operating costs compared to the current diesel powered incandescent lights the air force is using currently.
