Chinook Season Starts This Week on the Lower Columbia
Monday marked the start of the Columbia River Chinook fishing season. Many consider the salmon that come up the lower Columbia to be some of the best so it is no wonder that anglers are buzzing this week about the prospects for the 14 day season. Fish and Wildlife is estimating that a run of 70,700 summer chinook are likely to make their way up the Columbia this year. So get your fishing gear out this weekend, buy a chinook fishing tag and head out to the Columbia for some much needed relaxation, sport and good ole’ NW fun.
Not sure you have a handle on good fishing techniques? Unsure of the best way to catch a chinook salmon or even ocean fish? Below are some local fishing seminars taking place this week.
