Missing Hiker’s Body Found Near Base of Cliff

Searchers discovered the body of missing PSU student Katherine Huether more than a week after she set out for a hike in the Columbia River Gorge. She was found among the rocks near the base of an 800-foot-high rock face, where authorities believe she fell from a cliff.

Women, Prepare for a Year of Outdoor Adventures

Missing PSU Student Remains Lost Near Pacific Crest Trail

The search for PSU student Katherine Huether continues today after she did not return from a hike last Thursday, March 4, 2010. Huether, 24 texted a friend letting them know that she was going on a short hike and would be home around 8:00pm that night. She has not yet returned.
