2009 Time Square New Years Eve Ball All LED
This year’s New Years Eve Ball, the one that will drop in Times Square in front of millions of people will be covered in over 32,000 Philips Luxeon Rebel LEDs. Each of those bulbs will be utilized in a 2,668 triangular waterford Crystal pattern to create one of the most diverse and spectacular lighting creations in modern history. What’s more, the ball will become a permanent fixture in Time Square and will be programmed to light up in different ways for other holidays throughout the year. The ball has undergone consturction redesigns as well to ensure it will last the year-round weather conditions.
