LEDs 2008 Event To Showcase Growing Markets

LEDS 2008 San DiegoCree Inc, Osram Opto Semiconductors, Philips Lumileds Lighting and Nichia will all be represented at this year’s LEDS 2008 event in San Diego, CA. The three-day event will take place at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina and is gearing up to be an interesting and celebratory event.

Welland Ontario Joins the LED City Program

Cree Inc.On September 2, 2008 at a City Council meeting, the City of Welland along with Cree, Inc. announced that Welland would be joining the LED City initiative. To date, Welland has converted many of its lighting applications to LEDS and has changed its municipal standards to facilitate LED lighting for future streetlights.

Stub Stewart State Park Allowing Pets in 2009

Stub Stewart State ParkOregon residents who typically like to camp with their pets but feel stifled by the small number of locations that accept them are in luck. The L.L. Stub Stewart State Park will begin allowing dogs and cats to camp in some of the park’s yurts and cabins starting in 2009. The availability of pet-friendly camping structures is a temporary experiment being tried by the park to help increase interest in camping and hiking with pets and improve the pet-friendliness of state parks.

National Preparedness Month – September 2008
