Hiking Tips

Spring is nearly here, and if you’re like me, you’re itching to get out on the hiking trails. Before you take off, be sure you’re prepared. Here’s some steps to take before you go:

1) Get a good sturdy backpack.

Look for a pack that’s lightweight and comfortable on your back. Many backpacks today include special pockets for water, or rainflaps to keep your gear dry. Be sure to consider these features when shopping, and don’t be afraid to walk around the store with it on—this pack will be a close friend on the trail, and you choose your friends carefully, right?

Saving the Earth, one LED City at a Time

Lights in ShanghaiChina’s Tianjin Economic Development Area (TEDA) has become the next LED City, joining the ranks of American Cities like Austin, Ann Arbor, and Raleigh. According to an article in LEDs Magazine, twenty graduate students from Tianjin Polytechnic University designed, produced, and installed approximately 1,500 LED streetlights across TEDA over the last two years.
