Going Green – Going LED

The word is spreading.  LED lighting in commercial and residential buildings provides a tremendous payback in terms of long-term costs and energy-efficiency. Sentry Equipment Corporation is the latest company to realize that incorporating LED lighting into their new manufacturing and office building just makes sense.

Hiking Tour of March Pond Forest – New Hampshire

Looking for a great way to see the colors of New Hampshire in the Fall?  A hiking tour of the 960-acre March Pond Forest area is being planned for Saturday, November 3.   The forest is located east of the Ragged Mountain Ski Area and features beautiful hemlocks and hardwoods, wetlands and of course the 8-acre March Pond.  The hike will wind participants through this entire area in addition to a climb up March Hill which stands at about 1,550 feet.

Hike Arizona’s Picacho Peak October 27

As part of the Arizona State Park’s year-long 50th anniversary celebration, officials are hosting “Hike the Peak” – a group hike up Picacho Peak on Saturday, October 27.  Hiking enthusiasts and outdoor lovers are invited to hike the 3,374-foot summit and enjoy the fall scenery in Arizona.

Advanced LEDs and E. ON Energy Services Partner Up

UK-based manufacturer of high-end LED lights, Advanced LEDs Ltd, and major energy supplier E. ON Energy Services have signed an exclusive relationship agreement that will enable E.ON to offer LED-based lighting schemes when bidding for projects under the Private Financing Initiative (PFI). PFI contracts enable private companies to pay for the construction costs on public projects, and then rent the finished project back to public buyers.

Illinois Green Space Hiking and Biking Trail Opened

On October 12, the southern Illinois Glen Carbon’s Green Space North was officially opened to local and visiting hiking and biking enthusiasts. The new green space boasts a new nature hiking trail and a biking route that gives access to the Madison County Transit Nickel Plate Bike Trail.
