The video walks you through the many elements that you should include in your hiking, camping or hunting survival kit. Like our expert staff, they too recommend you carry a good hunting knife and sharpening stone, long-lasting flashlight, like an LED Digitac II or other small hand-held flashlight, water, food in an easy to carry form, and many more useful, yet light-weight items.













If you are interested in hiking the European wilderness, consider hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB). The tour takes approximately eleven days and covers 100 miles of France, Italy and Switzerland mountains and forests. The trek is rigorous, with several height changes – a combined height gain and loss of 33,000 feet. As you would expect the views are exceptional.
Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) has introduced legislation to phase out traditional light bulbs and replace them with newer ones that burn just as brightly but use much less energy. What he is calling the “Energy Efficient Lighting for a Brighter Tomorrow Act” will require that the transition take place beginning in 2012 and is estimated to continue through 2014. It is estimated that the change to more efficient light bulbs will save U.S. residents up to $6 billion a year in electricity costs.
