The number of regular smokers is diminishing in the US (or so they say).  State and city legislatures are limiting the number of smoke-friendly establishments across the US making it harder and harder for smokers to enjoy the past-time.  The pressure as a kid is lessening to some degree to even start up the habit. Yep – ash trays and car lighters may be a thing of the past (this author is leery of such thinking but we’ll let time tell).

Fishing Derby at Prospect Lake for Kids of All Ages

Stub Stewart State Park to Open June 2007

June 2007 has been confirmed as the opening timeframe for the Stub Stewart State Park, the first full-service Oregon state park to be developed in over 30 years. Campers, hikers, horseback riders and cyclist will find the area a great new adventure area this summer. The park is located on the east side of Oregon 47, four miles north of the U.S. 26-Hwy. 47 intersection. The park is 31 miles west of Portland in Washington County.

Woman on Track to be first to Hike the Great Eastern Trail

Sue Turner has her work cut out for her. The 50 year old woman is attempting to hike the entire Great Eastern Trail from the Florida-Alabama border to New York state. If she succeeds she will be the first to hike that distance.
