Long Life to your Knife

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

We all are guilty of abusing our kitchen utensils.  We use butter knives and forks to pry open stubborn soup cans and our rolling pins to flatten cuts of meat and sometimes bugs.  I know I am guilty of being equally careless with my kitchen knives.  After owning two poor quality kitchen knife sets that did more damage than good, I decided to spend the money to get a quality set of knives that would last.  Imagine my surprise when the instructions of my new set clearly stated that I would still need to do some general maintenance to ensure my quality knife set would last.

I saw this product – the money clip C9947 - on the lightsandknives.com site and I immediately wished I was one of those people that didn’t need to carry every credit card, business card, scribbled on napkin or Starbucks receipt I had ever received.  The functionality and sleakness of this clip has me reconsidering my basic leather wallet. It’s a pretty smart little gizmo for men who don’t like to carry a lot of stuff in their pockets.  The small money clip piece is perfect for guys that just want to carry cash and ID for a night out. I personally don’t like to bog down my cargos with a 50 prong pocket knife unless I am heading out camping, so the idea of still having some basic emergency cutting accessories attached to something I would use daily anyway, is brilliant.   It won’t take the place of my trusty pocket tool knife set but it would be a great supplement.  I expect it may not make it through airport security either but what does these days?
